While we were in Michigan last weekend, we spent some time in a little town called Three Oaks. A couple had recently renovated an old theater there and turned it into an art house project now called the Vickers Theater, after the couple that renovated it. The night we were there, they showed a movie called God Grew Tired of Us. It is a National Geographic documentary that follows members of the lost boys, refugees from Sudan that had first settled in Ethopia, then Kenya. In this movie, it follows their departure from Kenya into the United States refugee resettlement program. It is an incredible movie, we really enjoyed it.
It is somewhat confusing to me why Darfur is not a more public story. Why is it so hard to get some sort of action there? Can anyone answer that for me?
